Multiband bandpass filters (BPFs) and multiplexers are essential front-end modules in the development of multifunction, multistandard, multiband wireless communication, sensing, positioning systems that required current future intelligent electronics applications. In this paper, numerous implementation schemes topologies BPFs multiplexers, which have been proposed, studied, developed so far, holistically summarized elaborated terms their merits drawbacks. Subsequently, various technical approaches diverse design methodologies based on substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) technology thoroughly examined reviewed with respect to features, electrical performances, practical Finally, research directions prospects SIW briefly unraveled.
